Role: Small molecule Process Engineer supporting active pharmaceutical ingredient (API) synthesis in a new GMP manufacturing pilot plant. Objectives: develop, optimize, and sustain manufacturing processes for small molecule drug substances, contribute to startup and scale-up efforts. Responsibilities: perform risk assessments, learn reactor and automation designs, ensure safety and compliance with cGMP, model and evaluate process data for scale-up, collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Tech Services, and Operations, and author technical reports. Requirements: BS/MS in Chemical Engineering or related field; 2+ years in pharmaceutical or chemical manufacturing; familiarity with unit operations such as reactions, distillation, filtration; knowledge of process control systems; strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills. Preferred: experience with API manufacturing, development activities, software tools like Aspen or DeltaV, and mentoring abilities.
