Role: Senior/Principal Scientist in Structural Biology focused on target druggability and structure-based drug design within Schrödinger's Therapeutics Group. Responsibilities: define druggability hypotheses for challenging targets by integrating structural, computational, and biophysical data; develop and apply advanced computational methods—including AI/ML—for binding site identification and conformational sampling; translate insights into experimental hypotheses; lead structural biology efforts, managing external CROs and internal teams; contribute to platform strategy by informing software development. Qualifications: PhD or equivalent in Structural Biology, Biophysics, or Computational Chemistry; extensive hands-on experience in structure-based drug design, cryptic pocket detection, and biophysical experiments such as cryo-EM/X-ray crystallography; fluency in AI/ML, MD simulations, and structural prediction tools. Preferred: experience with modality-switch strategies (e.g., biologics to small molecules), expertise in cryptic/transient pocket identification, and proven ability to communicate complex hypotheses to stakeholders.
