Position Summary:
Senior Principal Scientist (Discovery Biology) to lead immunology strategy and advance a portfolio of T cell engager and cancer immunology therapies. Drive projects from concept to clinic in Seattle, WA, partnering across functions and external collaborators.
Position Responsibilities:
- Lead matrixed TCE/cancer immunology discovery teams from target concept to IND; lead/mentor a biology team supporting in vitro experimentation.
- Deploy existing and new techniques for function-based identification and selection of lead drug candidates.
- Shape overall strategy and inform next-wave therapeutic innovation.
- Collaborate with functional leads (e.g., pharmacology, DMPK, bioinformatics) to drive programs, including priorities and risk definition.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary external partners to advance assets.
- Present complex concepts to governance and team meetings; communicate via email, meetings, and reports.
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs: 10+ years academic and/or industry experience
- Masterโs: 8+ years academic and/or industry experience
- Ph.D. (or equivalent Life Sciences): 6+ years academic/industry + 2+ years leadership experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- 6+ years industry (Ph.D.); 2+ years leadership
- Cancer immune therapeutic development incl. T cell redirected therapies
- Discovery of T cell engagers; profiling/developing complex biologics to enhance tumor microenvironment immune function
- High-throughput screening and cell-based assays; interpret in vivo functional assays
- Matrixed discovery concept-to-IND experience; contribute to an IND
- Leadership/mentoring, strong oral/written communication, AI-enabled strategic planning
