Role: Senior Principal Scientist leading the Polysaccharide Fermentation and Purification Development group within Vaccines, Early BioProcess Development. Objectives: provide strategic scientific leadership for upstream/downstream bioprocess development supporting vaccine portfolios, especially carbohydrate-based conjugate vaccines. Responsibilities: lead and develop a team of process scientists and engineers, drive scalable manufacturing process development across microbial fermentation and purification, shape process development strategies aligned with program goals, collaborate cross-functionally for process integration, oversee technology transfer to manufacturing sites, foster innovation through emerging bioprocess tech, and mentor talent. Qualifications: PhD in Chemical/Biochemical/Bioengineering, Microbiology, Biochemistry or related, with 8+ yearsβ experience in vaccine process development, particularly for polysaccharide conjugate vaccines; expertise in microbial fermentation and polysaccharide purification; strong understanding of CQAs, process validation, and CMC documentation; proven ability to collaborate across disciplines. High-Value: focus on microbial-based vaccine platforms, conjugate vaccines, phase development from early to clinical manufacturing, GxP compliance, process characterization, and process transfer.
