Role: Senior/Principal Scientist in Analytical Cell Line Engineering and Bioassay Development, focusing on developing and characterizing analytical cell lines and bioassays for biologics. Responsibilities include designing stable mammalian cell lines, translating mechanisms of action into cell-based assays, and supporting early to late-stage potency testing; leading complex technical workstreams; authoring regulatory documentation; mentoring junior staff; and establishing scalable platform strategies. Requirements: Ph.D. in relevant disciplines with 3+ years (Senior) or 7+ years (Principal) industry experience; deep expertise in mammalian cell line engineering, assay development, and functional characterization; experience with technologies like flow cytometry, qPCR, and high-throughput screening; understanding of regulatory expectations for potency assays. Preferred skills include experience with biologics, receptor biology, signaling pathways, and regulatory documentation. High-value specifics involve biologics development, cell-based potency assays, and technical leadership in a GMP environment. The role reports to the Associate Director within the Global Biologics team, based in Lexington, MA, with potential for cross-functional collaboration across Discovery, Development, and Quality. The work may involve working in controlled manufacturing environments and may require wearing protective PPE.
