Process Engineers in Product Development Science & Technology support API projects through all phases of late stage development, commercialization, and product life cycle. Once commercialized, they drive continuous improvement, manage technical transfer to manufacturing sites, and resolve technical manufacturing issues. As a multidiscipline expert, the role drives functional performance for new or improved products by developing and implementing robust process steps and control strategies as processes scale from lab to manufacturing.
Sr Principal Scientist, Process Engineering: Research and conduct project activities by mentoring, guiding, and/or supervising scientific personnel. Independently conceive, execute, and communicate novel multi-disciplinary research or development strategies to achieve project and area goals. Lead teams designing, implementing, and optimizing processes for peptide and other new modalities and traditional small molecules from development to commercialization.
Major Responsibilities:
- Develop and achieve discipline strategy aligned with functional goals.
- Advance process engineering expertise; mentor and advise peers and senior management.
- Ensure quality/effectiveness of project results via sound design, early risk assessments, and fallback strategies.
- Source and integrate emerging scientific trends into short-term objectives.
- Create and implement new/better process approaches and breakthrough ideas.
- Present scientific concepts/results to technical and non-technical leaders and partners.
- Ensure compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional policies and procedures.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorโs (typically 18 years related work) or Masterโs/PharmD (typically 16 years) or PhD (typically 10 years) in a science-related field.
- Experience in process development and/or technical support of commercial processes, preferably peptide processing.
- Proven innovation with history of new or improved product releases.
- Strong collaboration and influence across scientific disciplines.
- Strong verbal, written, and presentation skills.
Benefits:
- Paid time off; medical/dental/vision insurance; 401(k) to eligible employees.
- Eligible for long-term incentive programs.
