Role: Senior Brand Designer for the 23andMe Research Institute, a newly established nonprofit focused on genetic discovery and scientific advancement. Responsibilities: design integrated brand campaigns across digital, print, and event platforms; develop digital storytelling assets like web pages, social content, and data visualizations; create visual identities for events, philanthropy materials, and partnerships; lead creative direction and manage external agencies; evolve and maintain the Instituteβs visual system; collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including scientists, communications, philanthropy, and partnerships; mentor junior designers and set creative standards. Requirements: 6+ years in brand or marketing design, with at least 2 years in a senior or lead role; strong portfolio demonstrating expertise in typography, layout, color, and digital identity; experience leading creative projects and directing external vendors; proficiency in Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, and AI-assisted design tools; excellent storytelling, presentation, and collaboration skills; ability to manage multiple projects independently; hybrid work in Palo Alto, with three days in-office. Nice to Have: background in health, science, or complex content; knowledge of data visualization; experience with nonprofit or mission-driven brands; understanding of genetics or enthusiasm to learn.
