Role Summary
Senior Portfolio Manager (Hybrid) responsible for developing, executing, and managing IT projects within defined scope. Lead cross-functional initiatives, coordinate resources, and ensure on-time, on-budget delivery while aligning with business goals and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for compliance with applicable corporate and divisional policies and procedures.
- Initiate and plan IT projects: work with business and IT management to establish and gain consensus on project goals, objectives, and deliverables; build the plan and resource needs to accomplish the scope.
- Project control: assess how changes to scope, issues, and risks affect the project; gain agreement for resolution; measure performance against the original plan and budget.
- Executing and closing projects: develop and execute a work plan; obtain authorized resources; gather lessons learned and obtain final project approval from sponsor and stakeholders; lead the team in delivering project scope.
- Project communication: produce project reports to provide timely and accurate status and decision-support information to project teams, business, and IT management; make recommendations to resolve issues and manage risks.
- Resource and team management: coordinate resources to address project needs; assign tasks; supervise, motivate, and mentor cross-functional/cross-divisional project teams.
- Quality management: ensure compliance with applicable corporate and functional policies and procedures.
- Decisions: make decisions impacting project-level activities; influence or have final decision authority for project budget.
- Financial control: develop and manage multi-year, multi-million dollar budgets; track spend, accruals, and provide regular spend estimates; coordinate invoices with project vendors to maintain spend within +/-10% of the budget.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree with 8 years of experience OR Master's Degree with 7 years of experience OR PhD with 3 years of experience.
- At least 8 years of proven experience driving projects through various phases of the SDLC, using Waterfall and Agile methodologies as appropriate.
- At least 5 years of experience managing significant IT projects in a pharmaceutical environment.
- Must have managed project budgets in excess of $1M.
- Must have demonstrable executive presence.
- Proven Microsoft Office skills are required.
