Role Summary

Senior Pharmaceutical Sales Specialist for R&I Primary Care Team in Flushing, NY. Focused on educating healthcare professionals about respiratory and immunology therapies, driving on-label prescribing, and delivering territory growth within AstraZeneca's R&I portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Develop superior product and disease state knowledge and educate healthcare professionals about clinical evidence, indications, and product efficacy/safety to support on-label prescribing.
  • Function independently to drive sales performance and ensure forecasts and budgets meet or exceed expectations.
  • Complete training requirements, including product examinations.
  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of market, demographics, and managed care information for the assigned territory.
  • Collaborate with District Sales Manager and Regional Sales Director to develop local strategy and business plan to increase sales.
  • Capitalize on formulary approvals and implement Strategic Targeting Plans using promotional resources and analytical tools to enhance territory effectiveness.
  • Provide education to healthcare providers within AstraZeneca’s ethical guidelines.
  • Coordinate selling efforts with other Pharmaceutical Sales Specialists.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree
  • Required: 5+ years of demonstrated sales or B2B/commercial experience or related pharmaceutical/healthcare/scientific experience
  • Required: Driver’s license and safe driving record

Desirable Qualifications

  • Knowledge of medical/healthcare/pharmacy industry, preferably within Respiratory areas
  • Prior sales experience
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership and sound judgment
  • Results-oriented with good time management
  • Mandarin proficiency preferred to engage with providers and patients within the territory
  • Ability to learn, analyze, and convey complex information
