Senior Patent Counsel (Global Legal Organization)
Locations: San Diego, CA; Cambridge, MA; Spring House, PA; or New Brunswick, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Draft and prosecute patent applications.
- Advise the business on patent and regulatory exclusivity strategy.
- Review, draft, and advise on IP-related contracts.
- Partner with the litigation department in patent-related litigations and disputes.
- Conduct third-party and reverse patent due diligence.
- Educate stakeholders on IP-related topics.

Qualifications:
- J.D. or LL.M. with admission to and good standing with the bar of one state or the District of Columbia; admission to the USPTO required.
- Degree in molecular biology or related field (MS/PhD preferred).
- 5+ years drafting and prosecuting biologics (large molecule pharmaceuticals) patent applications at a law firm or multinational corporation legal department.
- Advantage: experience in patent due diligence/disputes/non-infringement opinions/regulatory exclusivity or patent license drafting/counseling; ability to support data/software innovations, siRNA, small molecules, or drug/device combinations.
