General Summary:
This position provides advanced paralegal support across Litigation, Commercial/Market Access, and Privacy. Partners with attorneys and internal stakeholders to drive efficient, organized, compliant legal processes, including eDiscovery/search, legal holds, contracting support, and knowledge management.
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Litigation, investigation and data subject request support: Administer legal hold and eDiscovery workflows (Everlaw or equivalent), coordinate document collection (including data subject request materials), support privilege logs and confidentiality designations, liaise with internal partners (e.g., Digital Technology/IT), manage internal case filing repository, and support third-party subpoena responses/document production under attorney oversight.
- Investigations and risk support: Attend interviews, take notes, draft summaries/memos under attorney direction, and provide surge support to risk/ERM (e.g., meeting notes, follow-up tracking).
- Market Access: Support drafting/review/administration of market access agreements (trade, distribution, payer); manage contract review workflows, maintain contract trackers (rebates, pricing obligations, expirations, amendments), and coordinate contracting logistics/documentation.
- Knowledge management/process improvement: Develop and optimize playbooks, templates, checklists, and process documentation; support legal technology adoption.
- Vendor/matter administration: Coordinate legal support vendors; support first-level review of outside counsel invoices in CounselLink (or equivalent).
- Stakeholder communication/prioritization: Manage multiple workstreams; communicate status/risks.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong litigation support: legal holds, document collection, case filings organization, eDiscovery/search (Everlaw or equivalent preferred).
- Outside counsel/vendor coordination; familiarity with first-level invoice review in CounselLink (or equivalent).
- Contracting process support and tracking; ability to use templates and maintain playbooks/checklists.
- Independent work with minimal supervision; organized, detail-oriented, prioritize competing deadlines.
- Strong written/verbal communication; work effectively across functions/geographies.
- Sound judgment handling confidential/privileged information.
- Tech savvy; Microsoft 365 proficiency; comfort learning new legal technologies.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelorโs or Associateโs degree; ABA paralegal certification is a plus.
- Typically 5+ years relevant paralegal experience (law firm and/or in-house) or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience supporting litigation/eDiscovery and multiple workstreams.
- Experience supporting market access in regulated pharma/biotech environment.
- Experience partnering with attorneys/stakeholders to capture knowledge, translate legal guidance into tools, and support continuous improvement.
