Role: Senior Optical Engineer supporting Alcon’s Intraocular Lens (IOL) R&D and Advanced Optics team at their Fort Worth, Texas campus. Responsibilities: lead optical design and simulation using Zemax/Code V, drive cross-functional innovation with Optics, Ophthalmology, Chemistry, and Mechanical Engineering teams; oversee end-to-end IOL program development from concept to clinical impact; utilize Python, MATLAB, ML libraries for data-driven design optimization; ensure compliance with ISO, FDA, and MDD standards; mentor team members and contribute to best practices. Requirements: Bachelor's degree or equivalent with 2+ years relevant experience; proficiency in optical design software and programming in Python/Matlab; strong understanding of medical device design regulations. Preferred: advanced degree in Optics, Optical Engineering, Physics, or related fields; experience with regulatory standards; problem-solving creativity; familiarity with ISO, FDA, MDD regulations; knowledge of optical engineering principles.
