Role Summary
Senior Oncology Specialist in Detroit, MI (TOPAZ territory: Rochester, Flint, Cass City, Bad Axe). The primary role is to act as the liaison to medical professionals, providing current clinical knowledge of Amgen's oncology products and communicating their clinical and economic benefits. You will develop and execute a comprehensive territory plan to achieve sales targets and improve patient access to therapies.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft an effective marketing strategy to aid in driving sales.
- Analyze business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
- Maintain passion for the products to sustain engagement through the full sales cycle while building the brand and serving patients.
- Partner with colleagues to share best practices and maintain a mindset of curiosity and learning to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
- Leverage knowledge of oncology, disease state awareness, industry, regulatory, and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelor's degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
- Preferred: Oncology experience.
- Preferred: Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
- Preferred: Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation; neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases and the therapies involved.
- Preferred: Local market knowledge.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
