Role Summary

Senior Oncology Specialist responsible for serving as the primary liaison to medical professionals in the assigned territory by providing current clinical knowledge of Amgen's oncology products and communicating their clinical and economic benefits. The role includes developing and executing a comprehensive territory plan to drive sales, managing relationships to ensure product access and contracts, collaborating with colleagues to share best practices, and leveraging oncology expertise to deliver results. Territory includes Baltimore, MD; Newark, DE; Salisbury, MD.

Responsibilities

  • Create and execute a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving/triage reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
  • Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
  • Analyze sales activity effectiveness and territory performance, and develop territory plans with the District Manager.
  • Maintain passion for our products through the entire sales cycle and build the brand while serving patients.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share best practices and pursue continuous learning to grow as a Senior Oncology Specialist.
  • Leverage oncology knowledge and awareness of disease state, industry, regulatory and competitive changes to deliver results.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
  • Required: Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
  • Required: High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare / scientific field that is not sales related.
  • Preferred: Oncology experience.
  • Preferred: Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
  • Preferred: Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation; Neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties.
  • Preferred: Local market knowledge.
  • Preferred: Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
  • Preferred: Adaptability with core competencies: Planning and Organizing; Leveraging Business, Industry, and Technical Knowledge; Communicating with Impact; Driving for Results; and Cultivating Internal and External Relationships.
