Role Summary
Senior Oncology Specialist for the EMERALD territory (New Orleans, LA) covering New Orleans, Vicksburg, Baton Rouge, Morgan City, and Newton. Acts as the primary customer liaison, providing current clinical knowledge of Amgen's oncology products to medical professionals and communicating clinical and economic benefits. Drives territory sales by applying oncology expertise, building relationships, and ensuring product access and contracts within a patient-focused, values-driven environment.
Responsibilities
- Create and execute on a comprehensive territory plan, including delivering branded sales messages, executing planned programs, scheduling and following up with medical educational programs, and achieving or exceeding sales targets.
- Utilize internal and external relationships to service and manage accounts, including ensuring product access, resolving reimbursement issues, and maintaining product contracts.
- Craft an effective marketing strategy to drive sales.
- Analyze the business effectiveness of sales activities and territory analysis, and develop territory plans with your District Manager.
- Maintain passion for our products throughout the entire sales cycle while always building the brand and focusing on serving patients.
- Partner with other colleagues to share best practices and maintain continuous curiosity and learning to grow as a Sr. Oncology Specialist.
- Leverage passion for Oncology and disease-state awareness, industry, regulatory and competitive changes to deliver agreed results.
Qualifications
- Required: Bachelorβs degree and 3 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: Associate degree and 6 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.
- Required: High school diploma / GED and 8 years of sales experience and/or clinical experience in healthcare/scientific field that is not sales related.
- Preferred: Oncology experience.
- Preferred: Three or more years of sales and/or marketing experience within pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare, or medical device industries.
- Preferred: Product or hospital sales experience in oncology, nephrology, dermatology, rheumatology and inflammation; neurology, endocrinology, hepatology, gastroenterology, or infectious diseases, and the diseases and treatments involved with these specialties.
- Preferred: Local Market knowledge.
- Preferred: A Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences or Business Administration.
