Role Summary

The Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) promotes Pfizer’s product portfolio to health care providers and specialists, educates the healthcare community on the appropriate use of Pfizer products, and calls on accounts and organized customers to improve patients’ experience and the overall quality of patient care. The role links an insightful assessment of the account landscape with a strong understanding of Pfizer’s products and resources. This position is remote with field responsibilities in the Baltimore/DC territory.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Pfizer’s product portfolio to health care providers and specialists.
  • Educate members of the healthcare community regarding the appropriate use of Pfizer products.
  • Call on accounts and organized customers to help improve patients’ experience with Pfizer products and the overall quality of patient care.
  • Increase Pfizer’s brand with high-value target customers by linking account landscape assessments with a strong understanding of Pfizer’s products and resources.

Qualifications

  • Required: BA/BS Degree from an accredited institution or an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Required: Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
  • Required: Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards. Any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify you from being hired.
  • Required: Minimum of 4 years of previous Pharmaceutical Sales experience or minimum of 4 years of previous Oncology Healthcare Professional (HCP) experience working with key Oncology thought leaders or high influence customers in hospitals, large group practices or managed care organizations.
  • Required: A demonstrated track record of success and accomplishment with previous Pharmaceutical Sales experience or Healthcare Professional (HCP) experience.
  • Required: Exceptional aptitude for learning and ability to communicate technical and scientific product and disease management information to a wide range of customers.
  • Required: Demonstrated high degree of business acumen.
  • Required: Proficiency using complex digital applications and able to adapt to Pfizer’s long-range technology model in bringing relevant Pfizer information to market.
  • Preferred: 3-5 years of Oncology sales experience.
  • Preferred: Experience in Gynecologic Oncology.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree.
  • Preferred: Advanced Healthcare Professional (HCP) Degree.
  • Preferred: Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers and Key Opinion Leaders.

  • Promote broad portfolio of products; Strong knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products.
  • Deep knowledge of applicable customers and markets (prescribers/HCPs/institutions/organizations).
  • Generate demand for Pfizer products in assigned accounts.
  • Strategic account selling and management skills; develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans to drive achievement of desired objectives.
  • Maintain relationships throughout institutions.
  • Overcome obstacles to gain access to difficult to see health care providers and customers.
  • Cultivate relationships with KOLs; build lasting relationships with top priority customers.
  • Assess needs of target physicians/accounts; address needs with responsive approach, targeted skills, and appropriate resources.
  • Superior selling, technical and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal and leadership skills; ability to engage, influence and support customers throughout the selling process.
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly learn and embrace new ways of working in a rapidly changing environment.
  • Possess the ability to work in a matrix environment and to leverage multiple resources to meet customer needs and deliver results.
