Role Summary
Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) promotes Pfizer’s product portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists, educates the healthcare community on appropriate product use, and engages accounts to improve patient experience and overall quality of care. The role increases Pfizer’s brand with high-value customers by linking account insights with Pfizer resources.
Responsibilities
- Promote broad portfolio of products; maintain strong knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products.
- Educate healthcare professionals and accounts on appropriate use of Pfizer products.
- Call on accounts and organized customers to improve patients’ experience and quality of care.
- Develop strategic account plans to drive achievement of objectives; manage relationships across institutions.
- Identify and address needs of target physicians and accounts with responsive approaches and appropriate resources.
- Engage with key opinion leaders to build lasting relationships with top priority customers.
- Navigate a matrix organization to leverage multiple resources and meet customer needs.
Qualifications
- Required: BA/BS degree from an accredited institution, OR associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; OR high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience. Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
- Required: Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards; any DUI/DWI or impaired driving citation within past 7 years will disqualify.
- Required: Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience OR 4+ years of Oncology HCP experience with key thought leaders/high-influence customers in hospitals, large practices, or managed care.
- Required: Demonstrated track record of success in pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience.
- Required: Ability to learn and communicate technical and scientific product/disease management information to a wide range of customers.
- Required: Strong business acumen and proficiency with complex digital applications; adapt to long-range technology model to bring Pfizer information to market.
- Preferred: 3–5 years of Oncology sales experience.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree or Advanced Healthcare Professional degree.
- Preferred: Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers, and Key Opinion Leaders.

- Knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and Pfizer products; ability to generate demand in assigned accounts.
- Strategic account selling and management; develop territory/account/customer plans.
- Relationship management across institutions; access navigation and obstruction removal with health care providers.

Education

Additional Requirements
- Travel domestically; overnight stays as necessary.
