Role Summary
Senior Oncology Account Specialist – responsible for promoting Pfizer’s product portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists, educating the healthcare community on appropriate product use, and engaging accounts to improve patient care and experience. The role connects account insights with Pfizer resources to increase brand presence among high-value customers.
Responsibilities
- Promote Pfizer’s broad portfolio of products to healthcare providers and specialists.
- Educate members of the healthcare community regarding appropriate use of Pfizer products.
- Call on accounts and organized customers to improve patients’ experience and the overall quality of care.
- Link account and business landscape insights with a strong understanding of Pfizer’s products and resources to increase brand presence.
Qualifications
- Required: BA/BS degree or an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience. Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
- Required: Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards; any DUI/DWI or impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify you.
- Required: Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience or 4 years of Oncology HCP experience working with key thought leaders or high-influence customers in hospitals, large group practices, or managed care organizations.
- Required: Demonstrated track record of success in pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience.
- Required: Exceptional ability to learn and communicate technical and scientific product and disease management information to a wide range of customers.
- Required: Demonstrated high degree of business acumen.
- Required: Proficiency with complex digital applications and ability to adapt to Pfizer’s technology model to bring relevant information to market.
- Preferred: 3–5 years of oncology sales experience.
- Preferred: Master’s Degree or Advanced Healthcare Professional (HCP) Degree.
- Preferred: Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers, and Key Opinion Leaders.
Skills
- Promote broad portfolio of products with strong knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products.
- Deep knowledge of applicable customers and markets (prescribers, HCPs, institutions, organizations).
- Generate demand for Pfizer products in assigned accounts.
- Strategic account selling and management; develop territory/account/customer plans.
- Maintain relationships throughout institutions and overcome access obstacles to difficult-to-see health care providers.
- Cultivate relationships with KOLs and top priority customers.
- Assess needs of target physicians/accounts and address with resources and targeted skills.
- Superior selling, technical, and relationship-building skills; strong communication and leadership.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a rapidly changing environment; work in a matrix environment.
Additional Requirements
- Travel domestically as required; overnight stays may be needed.
- Relocation may be offered based on business needs and eligibility.
