Role Summary

The Senior Oncology Account Specialist (SOAS) is responsible for promoting Pfizer’s product portfolio to health care providers and specialists, educating the healthcare community on appropriate product use, and engaging accounts to improve patient experiences and the overall quality of care. The role requires linking account assessments with an understanding of Pfizer’s products and resources to increase brand presence among high-value customers. This position supports Pfizer’s mission to deliver safe and effective products to patients.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a broad portfolio of products and deepen knowledge of disease states, therapeutic areas, and products.
  • Generate demand for Pfizer products in assigned accounts and manage strategic account selling and planning.
  • Maintain relationships throughout institutions and cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders and top priority customers.
  • Assess the needs of target physicians and accounts; address needs with a responsive approach and appropriate resources.
  • Engage and support customers throughout the selling process with strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
  • Adapt to new ways of working in a rapidly changing environment and operate effectively in a matrix environment.

Qualifications

  • Required: BA/BS degree from an accredited institution or an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Required: Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
  • Required: Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards.
  • Required: Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience or 4 years of Oncology HCP experience with key thought leaders or high-influence customers.
  • Required: Demonstrated track record of success in pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience.
  • Required: Exceptional aptitude for learning and ability to communicate technical and scientific information to a wide range of customers.
  • Required: Demonstrated business acumen and proficiency with complex digital applications.

Qualifications

  • Preferred: 3–5 years of Oncology sales experience.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree.
  • Preferred: Advanced Healthcare Professional (HCP) Degree.
  • Preferred: Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers, and key opinion leaders.
