Role Summary

The Senior Oncology Account Specialist promotes Pfizer’s oncology portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists, educates the healthcare community on the appropriate use of Pfizer products, and engages accounts to improve patients’ experiences and the quality of care delivered. The role links account insights with knowledge of Pfizer’s products and resources to grow the brand among high-value customers. This position covers the Tampa, Florida territory and requires domestic travel as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Promote Pfizer’s broad oncology product portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists.
  • Educate the healthcare community on the appropriate use of Pfizer products and disease management information.
  • Call on accounts and organized customers to improve patients’ experience with Pfizer products and the overall quality of patient care delivered.
  • Develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans and manage relationships across institutions to drive objective achievement.
  • Maintain relationships throughout institutions and cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders to support top-priority customers.
  • Assess needs of target physicians and accounts and address them with a responsive approach, targeted skills, and appropriate resources.
  • Overcome obstacles to gain access to difficult-to-see health care providers and customers.

Qualifications

  • Required: BA/BS degree from an accredited institution, or an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or a high school diploma with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Required: Ability to travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
  • Required: Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards. Any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify you from being hired.
  • Required: Minimum of 4 years of pharmaceutical sales experience or minimum of 4 years of Oncology HCP experience working with key oncology thought leaders or high influence customers.
  • Required: Demonstrated track record of success and accomplishment in pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience.
  • Required: Exceptional aptitude for learning and ability to communicate technical and scientific product and disease management information to a wide range of customers.
  • Required: Demonstrated high degree of business acumen.
  • Required: Proficiency using complex digital applications and ability to adapt to Pfizer’s long-range technology model.
  • Preferred: 3–5 years of Oncology sales experience.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree.
  • Preferred: Advanced Healthcare Professional (HCP) Degree.
  • Preferred: Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers, and Key Opinion Leaders.

  • Ability to work in a matrix environment and leverage multiple resources to meet customer needs and deliver results.

Education

  • BA/BS degree from an accredited institution (required) or equivalent; Master’s degree preferred.
