Role Summary

Senior Oncology Account Specialist – Breast Cancer, based in Virginia Beach, VA. Responsible for promoting Pfizer’s oncology portfolio to healthcare providers and specialists, educating the healthcare community on the appropriate use of Pfizer products, and engaging accounts to improve patient experience and overall quality of care. The SOAS uses account insights and Pfizer resources to strengthen Pfizer’s presence with high-value customers.

Responsibilities

  • Promote a broad portfolio of oncology products to prescribers, HCPs, institutions, and other high-value customers.
  • Educate a members of the healthcare community regarding the appropriate use of Pfizer oncology products.
  • Call on accounts and organized customers to help improve patients’ experience with Pfizer products and the quality of patient care delivered.
  • Link account assessment and business landscape insights with Pfizer resources to increase brand awareness and product adoption among target customers.
  • Develop comprehensive territory/account/customer plans to drive achievement of objectives; maintain relationships across institutions.
  • Overcome obstacles to gain access to difficult-to-see healthcare providers and customers.
  • Cultivate relationships with key opinion leaders and top-priority customers; assess needs and address them with targeted resources.

Qualifications

  • Required: BA/BS degree from an accredited institution; or an associate’s degree with 8+ years of experience; or a high school diploma (or equivalent) with 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Required: Minimum of 4 years of previous Pharmaceutical Sales experience or minimum of 4 years of Oncology Healthcare Professional (HCP) experience working with key Oncology thought leaders or high-influence customers in hospitals, large group practices, or managed care organizations.
  • Required: Demonstrated track record of success in pharmaceutical sales or HCP experience.
  • Required: Exceptional aptitude for learning and ability to communicate technical and scientific product and disease-management information to a wide range of customers.
  • Required: Demonstrated high degree of business acumen.
  • Required: Proficiency using complex digital applications and ability to adapt to Pfizer’s long-range technology model.
  • Preferred: 3-5 years of Oncology sales experience.
  • Preferred: Master’s Degree.
  • Preferred: Advanced Healthcare Professional (HCP) Degree.
  • Preferred: Experience calling on institutions, NCI centers and Key Opinion Leaders.

  • Superior selling, technical, and relationship-building skills; strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership abilities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and adapt to evolving ways of working in a matrix environment and to leverage multiple resources to meet customer needs.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel domestically and stay overnight as necessary.
  • Valid US driver’s license and driving record in compliance with company standards; any DUI/DWI or other impaired driving citation within the past 7 years will disqualify you from being hired.
