Role Summary

Senior Medical Science Liaison(s) and Medical Science Liaison(s) across the US for Cardiovascular focus. Field-based medical experts will support the Medical Affairs team, establish and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders and healthcare practitioners within the assigned territory, and bring strong pharmaceutical industry experience to scientific engagement in cardiovascular disease.

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOLs) and healthcare professionals within assigned region
  • Primary point of contact for field medical and scientific inquiries
  • Serve as subject matter expert at conferences, advisory boards, roundtables, clinical investigator meetings, speaker training, and internal meetings
  • Lead and/or participate in project teams that support MSL strategies and tactics
  • Identify and engage with healthcare stakeholders to educate and communicate clinical, scientific, and economic data to providers
  • Deliver scientific presentations and training to diverse HCP audiences, conveying complex information effectively
  • Serve as a strategic partner with internal cross-functional teams
  • Support clinical trial site activities and identify/advocate for opportunities in investigator-sponsored research
  • Support CME requests and activities through unsolicited grants process
  • Support field medical congress activities and attend meetings to gather competitive intelligence and develop medical collaborations
  • Attend and report on educational sessions
  • Gather, analyze, and communicate actionable insights from the field to inform company strategy and patient management trends
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings, sharing field insights with Medical Affairs, R&D, and Commercial teams
  • Adhere to policies and regulations (e.g., EEO FDA, OSHA, PDMA, EPA PhRMA)
  • Contribute to medical affairs metrics, reports, and SOPs; document field activities per company policies and regulatory requirements

Qualifications

  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D. or D.O. (other doctoral degrees considered)
  • Senior MSL: 5+ years of current MSL experience; MSL in Scientific/Medical Affairs at biotech/pharma: 3β€šΓ„Γ¬5 years
  • Cardiology/Renal/Metabolic experience preferred
  • 5+ years of clinical practice, clinical research, or medical research experience a plus
  • Experience in medically related field (post-doctoral training acceptable)
  • Experience with all phases of KOL development and HCP engagement; drug launches experience
  • Strong cross-functional collaboration, delivering scientific insights, and achieving outcomes aligned with corporate goals
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and peer-to-peer collaboration

Education

  • Pharm.D., Ph.D., M.D., or D.O. required (or recognized equivalent)

Additional Requirements

  • Must be located within driving distance of a major international airport; approx. 50 - 70% travel
  • Valid US driverβ€šΓ„Γ΄s license required; ability to travel without restrictions
