Senior Medical Science Liaison, Rare Disease – Northern California (Territory: San Francisco, Oakland, Sacramento, Fresno)

What You Will Do
Primary scientific/clinical resource to Opinion Leaders (OLs), Population Health Decision Makers (PHDMs), and healthcare providers. Execute Amgen Medical function and product strategy to provide accurate information and improve patient outcomes.

Accountabilities and Responsibilities
- Majority peer-to-peer scientific/clinical engagement with OLs, community providers, and PHDMs to advance the scientific platform aligned to corporate goals.
- Present scientific based data (clinical value, outcomes, economic data) to PHDMs within assigned IDNs and institutions.
- Connect external/internal stakeholders to improve patient reach and access.
- Conduct in-depth balanced scientific exchange per MSL compliance standards.
- Support sponsored research (may serve as study lead); liaise with investigators in non-sponsored research.
- Provide field observations/insights to inform internal strategy; lead/support congress activities.
- Support speaker training with updated data; lead/participate on project teams.
- Partner across field roles for a coordinated “One Amgen” experience; mentor other MSLs.
- Complete administrative responsibilities/training (e.g., Veeva CRM, expenses, compliance modules).
- Maintain clinical/scientific acumen; build relationships and communicate scientific data.

Basic Qualifications
- Doctorate degree; OR Master’s + 3 years Medical Affairs; OR Bachelor’s + 5 years Medical Affairs.

Preferred Qualifications
- Pharm.D./Ph.D./M.D./D.O.; 7+ years medically related field incl. 1 year clinical practice/research; 2+ years as an MSL in biotech/pharma (current Scientific/Medical Affairs experience); Rare Disease-GPA/MPA and/or Sjogren’s expertise; experience with designated territory.
