Role Summary
The Senior Medical Science Liaison (MSL) is a key member of Global Medical Affairs, communicating scientific, clinical and technical information within the medical community, developing and maintaining strong collaborative relationships with Key Opinion Leaders, and serving as a therapeutic and radiopharmaceutical expert with internal audiences. This remote role supports the oncology and radiopharmaceuticals/medical imaging focus and is open to applicants authorized to work in the United States. Preferred candidates will reside near an international airport.
Responsibilities
- Identifies, develops and maintains long term collaborative relationships with Key Opinion Leaders in assigned territory
- Demonstrates strong communication skills with the ability to present approved scientific data of varying levels of complexity to internal and external customers in group and one-to-one settings, adjusted to the audience and in accordance with company policies, laws, regulations and ethical standards
- Responds to unsolicited scientific questions or requests with accurate, approved scientific data for approved products/brands and products in development, in accordance with policies and applicable laws
- Shares appropriate approved clinical/technical information in a timely manner with appropriate functional teams and other internal personnel
- Uses advanced clinical and technical expertise in contacts with External Experts to understand diagnostic imaging patterns, treatment guidelines and advances, provider needs, and patient medical needs
- Identifies potential speakers for promotional programs and speaker training meetings
- Provides constructive feedback to speakers regarding accuracy and delivery of approved presentations and adherence to compliance policies
- Understands and complies with pharmacovigilance SOPs regarding adverse events
- Identifies potential investigators for investigator-initiated trials following approved processes
- Adheres to the Compliance Code of Conduct and applicable policies, the OIG Guidance, PhRMA Code, GCP, HIPAA and relevant FDA laws and regulations
Qualifications
- PhD, PharmD or MD required
- 5+ years MSL experience preferred
- 7+ years total relevant industry/clinical experience including oncology, urology, or radiopharmaceuticals/medical imaging preferred
- Advanced understanding of trends in oncology, radiopharmaceuticals and diagnostic imaging
- Proficient at translating approved scientific or clinical data into high quality medical information for healthcare providers
- Demonstrated leadership in a team environment with effective communication across management, peers and cross-functional teams
- Motivated to achieve optimal results with a track record of growth and achievement
- Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and adapt to change
- Exceptional communicator and presenter with strong oral and written skills
Skills
- Oncology and/or Radiopharmaceutical knowledge, including key scientific publications
- Deep knowledge of a technical, scientific or clinical area
- Knowledge of clinical trial design and process
- Knowledge of pharmacoeconomic data principles and implications
- Advanced knowledge of the US Healthcare System and the Medical Imaging industry
- Strong Word, PowerPoint and Excel skills
Education
- PhD, PharmD or MD required
Additional Requirements
- 70% travel required; reside near a major airport
