Senior MSL (field-based) – Medical Affairs. Engage scientifically (accurate, non-promotional exchange) with key opinion leaders in assigned geography to support development and life-cycle management of Takeda Oncology medicines.
Territory: Cover NC and SC (excluding Wake Forest, NC). Preferred residence: Raleigh or Charlotte metro area.
Responsibilities (in addition to all MSL responsibilities):
- Maintain and expand relationships with HCPs/thought leaders.
- Apply advanced field-based medical expertise to support medical strategies and address unsolicited medical information requests (HCPs, managed care/payers/formulary decision makers).
- Contribute to matrix Medical Affairs projects; provide field observations/insights.
- Serve as congress lead to execute USMAO strategy at medical conferences.
- Develop/adapt regional territory plans; coach other MSLs; align thought leader expertise to company needs.
- Collect/interpret medical insights and communicate to internal stakeholders to define/update medical strategies.
- (If molecule lead) act as single point of contact for company-sponsored clinical trial enrollment; liaise with study teams to identify qualified sites.
- Mentor/coaching; support operational/scientific training; coordinate medical support for sales/speaker training.
Qualifications/Skills:
- Advanced scientific/healthcare degree required; doctoral preferred (e.g., PharmD, PhD, MD, RN, NP, DNP/APRN).
- Oncology experience preferred.
- Minimum 3 years field medical experience preferred; oncology/premarket experience preferred; pharmaceutical industry experience required.
- Thorough understanding of FDA, OIG, HIPAA, PhRMA Code, and ethical guidelines; superior oral/written communication.
- Strong scientific/technical knowledge across pre-clinical and clinical drug development.
