Sr. Medical Science Liaison (Sr. MSL) responsibilities (Gastroenterology/Hepatology):

Responsibilities:
- Cultivate and maintain long-term peer-to-peer scientific partnerships with KMEs and healthcare decision-makers within territory.
- Deliver balanced, evidence-based clinical presentations and lead scientific discussions on disease states and therapeutic pipelines.
- Represent the organization at major medical/scientific congresses and synthesize new clinical breakthroughs.
- Capture and communicate “voice of the customer” insights on treatment patterns and unmet needs to Global Medical Strategy.
- Partner with Clinical Operations to identify trial sites, facilitate patient recruitment, and support Investigator-Initiated Trials (IITs).
- Identify opportunities for real-world evidence (RWE) generation.
- Serve as a therapeutic area expert; provide clinical briefings to Market Access and Commercial teams.
- Act as primary field-based medical strategic lead; translate global plans into localized tactics.
- Provide competitive intelligence and medical insights to refine brand territory strategies; disseminate on-label educational/scientific/clinical information.
- Execute pre-launch scientific readiness plans (disease-state priming; address knowledge gaps ~24 months prior to approval).
- Build and execute a Territory Engagement Plan using analytics/CRM; prioritize high-impact interactions.
- Use omnichannel engagement (virtual platforms and social listening) and ensure compliance with global/local standards (e.g., PhRMA Code).

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; PhD/PharmD/MD or advanced healthcare degree highly preferred.
- Minimum 5+ years MSL experience preferred.
- Established relationships with Gastroenterology and/or Hepatology KMEs desired.
- Knowledge of FDA requirements related to MSLs; takes policies/procedures seriously.
- Demonstrated drug information communication, project management, and administrative management skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication; strong relationship-building with research community.
- Team-oriented; valid driver’s license in good standing; must currently reside in the assigned territory.
