Role Summary

Senior Medical Science Liaison – Autoantibody Pipeline for the Great Lakes region. Field-based role covering Michigan, Indiana, and Illinois, with preferred location in the Chicago, IL area.

Responsibilities

  • Consistently demonstrate strategic territory planning and ability to build strong relationships within the territory.
  • Develop and maintain a field strategic plan.
  • Respond to unsolicited scientific inquiries from healthcare professionals, investigators, health care systems, and academic medical centers, integrating scientific data including real-world evidence into practice.
  • Present data in a manner appropriate to the audience and request.
  • Execute plans regarding reactive and proactive outreaches as approved through appropriate processes.
  • Integrate scientific data into real-life practice, adapting interpersonal style to situations and people.
  • Anticipate responses of various individuals and teams based on vantage point.
  • Prioritize franchise customer-based initiatives and field responsibilities while balancing administrative and project duties.
  • Lead research initiatives; leverage standards of care and Janssen company/investigator-sponsored trials to facilitate external-internal research communication.
  • Engage with external investigators regarding unsolicited inquiries and liaise with R&D, Medical Affairs, and operations teams.
  • Provide clinical trial support to identify potential sites, resolve site issues, and participate in meetings (site initiation visits and investigator launch meetings).
  • Lead at least one scientific or strategic Immunology project and identify educational gaps to elevate team acumen.

Qualifications

  • Required: A PharmD, PhD, or MD with 3+ years of relevant hematology, immunology, and/or auto/alloimmune disease experience.
  • Minimum 3 years MSL experience, and/or 2‚Äì3 years relevant clinical or research experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and remote technologies.
  • Ability to travel up to 70%.

Preferred

  • Launch experience in rare disease is highly preferred.
  • Significant experience giving presentations is highly preferred.

  • Change management, time management, and innovation.
  • Ability to represent and support the company at scientific meetings, congresses, advisory boards, and investigator meetings.

Education

  • PharmD, PhD, or MD degree required.
