Role Summary
Senior/Medical Science Liaison (MSL) focused on Advanced Lung Disease (ALD). This role is remote within the United States, with ideal candidates located in California, Arizona, or Washington. The MSL serves as the primary field-based contact for current and future clinical investigators, speakers, and other healthcare providers on clinical and scientific issues. You will respond to information requests within approved scope, support investigator-initiated studies, engage thought leaders, train internal teams, and drive Medical Affairs programs while ensuring scientific accuracy and alignment with the medical strategy.
Responsibilities
- Respond to unsolicited requests for information beyond the scope of approved promotional use while adhering to policy on dissemination of scientific information.
- Serve as the primary contact between ILD and Transplant Centers and internal departments (i.e. Medical Affairs / Clinical Operations) with regard to company and investigator-initiated studies, ensuring scientific validity and alignment with the company’s medical strategy.
- Establish and maintain relationships with current and prospective thought leaders by engaging in discussions related to publication concepts and advisory boards and responding to grants requests and CME educational endeavors.
- Provide medical and scientific training and support to key internal stakeholders, including clinical research associates, field sales teams, and marketing teams.
- Manage project work related to Medical Affairs activities as assigned by the senior management of Medical Affairs. This includes contributing to the development of departmental infrastructure (eg, drafting SOPs) and identifying opportunities to enhance departmental work stream efficiencies.
Qualifications
- Required: NP, PA, Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD), Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or MD
- Required: 6+ years of experience working in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry (or appropriate clinical setting) with a Master’s Degree
- Required: 2+ years of experience working in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry (or appropriate clinical setting) with a PharmD, PhD, or MD
- Required: 3+ years of clinical experience in cardiovascular, respiratory, pulmonary or relevant disease state(s) (Advanced degree may be taken into consideration for relevant experience) or
- Required: 1+ years as a Medical Science Liaison or equivalent combination of clinical and MSL
- Required: Ability to exhibit excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the effective conveyance of scientific and medical information to diverse audiences, both internal and external, in various settings
- Required: Strong team collaboration, planning, communication, and organizational skills
- Required: Demonstrated ability to proactively drive initiatives and innovate solutions
- Required: Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Required: Expert level of scientific knowledge
- Required: Strong presentation, facilitation and instructional skills
- Required: Candidate must reside within the assigned territory with a strong preference to CA, AZ or WA
- Required: Ability to travel up to 80%

- Senior MSL - Required: 3+ years of experience working in ILD, or transplant
- Senior MSL - Required: 2+ years of experience working as an MSL
- Preferred: Ability to work independently and adapt to changing work demand and new processes
- Preferred: Demonstrated commitment to high standards of performance; adept at multitasking, prioritization, and results-oriented work
