Senior Medical Director, Translational Medicine & Early Clinical Development

Key Responsibilities
- Serve as global medical lead/medical monitor for early phase studies (FIH, PoC, mechanistic, indication-expansion) in MASH and related cardiometabolic/liver conditions.
- Lead study concept/protocol design: patient populations, clinical/biomarker endpoints, and mechanistic sub-studies.
- Provide medical oversight: eligibility review, safety monitoring, dose decision-making, and interpretation of emerging data.
- Partner with Clinical Operations and CROs for high-quality execution and inspection-readiness.
- Define/own translational strategy for assigned programs; integrate PK/PD, biomarkers, imaging, and clinical outcomes to support mechanistic narrative and dose/regimen selection.
- Oversee clinical biomarker plans; drive biospecimen banking and downstream analyses.
- Chair/co-chair early asset/translational working groups; partner cross-functionally (Clinical Development, Clinical Pharmacology, Regulatory Affairs, Biostatistics, Safety, Commercial).
- Provide input to key documents (IB, CSR, regulatory materials, publications/presentations) and present work internally/externally.
- Mentor junior physicians/PhD scientists; evolve translational operating model.

Qualifications
- MD with clinical training in relevant specialty (hepatology, gastroenterology, endocrinology, cardiology, internal medicine) or equivalent.
- 15+ years industry experience in clinical development with proven leadership of early phase interventional trials.
- Strong translational medicine/biomarker-driven development track record; metabolic liver/cardiometabolic experience preferred.
- Regulatory interaction experience (early development/biomarkers) highly desirable.
- Leadership, influence without authority, and excellent communication.
