Role Summary

Senior Medical Director of Portfolio Strategy, Medical Evidence Generation will shape and execute a cohesive scientific and medical strategy across the franchise portfolio. This role drives cross-functional and cross-therapeutic area alignment in evidence generation to inform strategic decisions and improve patient outcomes. Partner with R&D, Medical, Commercial, and Market Access, and engage with external stakeholders including key opinion leaders.

Responsibilities

  • Portfolio Medical Strategy & Evidence Generation (40%)
    • Design and implement a unified, portfolio-wide Integrated Evidence Generation Plan (iEGP) aligned with Franchise strategies and Lifecycle Management priorities.
    • Lead cross-TA innovation in evidence generation (including real-world evidence) across R&D, Medical Affairs, Commercial, and Market Access.
    • Identify data gaps and opportunities, offering strategic recommendations for optimal investment and impact-driven decisions.
    • Enhance external engagement and data-generation partnerships; pilot AI-enabled RWE platforms.
    • Monitor advancements and competitive activity to reinforce franchise leadership in medical evidence generation.
    • Collaborate with TAs, markets, and external partners to establish a robust RWE framework with timely, high-quality results.
  • Cross-Functional & Regional Alignment (30%)
    • Ensure consistent integration of the iEGP across therapeutic areas, functions, and regions to drive alignment and impact.
    • Work with program management, therapeutic area, country, and regional medical teams to optimize the iEGP with measurable medical and patient outcomes.
  • Impact Assessment & Execution Excellence (20%)
    • Define and implement KPIs to evaluate iEGP impact and data dissemination across therapeutic areas.
    • Analyze market insights to refine and innovate the iEGP; maintain competitiveness and alignment with objectives.
    • Standardize planning processes of iEGP across Global Medical Affairs – Alliance Immunology for consistency and excellence.
  • Portfolio & Stakeholder Engagement (10%)
    • Oversee stakeholder engagement strategies across indications, including KOL lists and segmentation.
    • Represent the franchise to external KOLs and stakeholders at conferences and events.
    • Support medical thought leadership in immunology and related areas with scientific discussions and engagement frameworks.

Qualifications

  • Advanced scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) required. Immunology experience preferred.
  • 10+ years of cross-TA experience; portfolio management and strategic planning across TAs required.
  • Deep knowledge in dermatology, respiratory, rhinology, GI, and/or immunology.
  • Strategic planning expertise from global management consulting is a strong asset.
  • Expertise in real-world evidence generation, lifecycle management, and medical impact measurement.
  • Proven leadership in medical affairs, RWE, data generation, and stakeholder engagement.
  • Strategic mindset to develop and execute cross-TA strategy; experience across multiple TAs.
  • Strong ability to work in a matrixed global environment with cross-functional and cross-regional teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills; experience with KOL engagement and external scientific communication.
