Role: Senior Medical Director, Translational Medicine & Early Clinical Development, leading early-phase studies and shaping translational strategies for Madrigal’s metabolic liver and cardiometabolic portfolio. Responsibilities: oversee first-in-human and proof-of-concept trials, design study protocols, provide medical oversight, and integrate biomarker and mechanistic data to inform development decisions. Lead translational and biomarker strategies from preclinical to late-stage, collaborating with Research and Biostatistics. Chair cross-functional early asset teams, contribute to regulatory and scientific communications, and build external scientific partnerships. Qualifications: MD with 15+ years in industry clinical development, with expertise in translational medicine, biomarkers, and early-phase trials—preferably in metabolic liver or cardiometabolic diseases. Strong leadership, communication skills, and experience with regulatory interactions are essential. Must be equipped to operate in a hybrid setting based in Conshohocken, PA, or Waltham, MA. High-Value: focus on MASH, fibrosis stages (F2-F4c), early clinical development, biomarker-driven programs, and mechanistic studies in a regulated environment.
