Senior Medical Director, Early Clinical Development

Role: Senior Medical Director leading early clinical development (ECD) for rare genetic disease assets at BioMarin, from first-in-human to proof of concept. Responsibilities: develop and execute clinical strategies for asset advancement, oversee Phase 1 and 2 studies, provide scientific leadership, and guide regulatory submissions; collaborate with Translational Science and Biomarkers teams to design natural history and biomarker studies; support business development and evaluate new programs; mentor ECD team members. Requirements: MD or equivalent, extensive experience (typically 10+ years) in clinical development of biologics or small molecules for rare diseases, strong expertise in translational research, early phase clinical trials, and biomarker strategy. Preferred: experience with regulatory interactions, natural history studies, and cross-functional team leadership.
