Role Summary
Senior Material Planner based in USA - Pennsylvania - King of Prussia, responsible for ensuring a consistent supply of existing and new materials to support the operations of the production and lab value streams.
Responsibilities
- Maintain updates of key SAP material planning data to best utilize our planning system and responsible for ensuring purchase orders are placed on time and monitored to maintain appropriate inventory levels
- Execute and improve standard process around material expiry, re-evaluation, cycle counting
- Support improvements to execution of site key business process within the scope of raw materials β such as financial budgeting, forecasting, expiry and site impact assessments for new products
- Collaboration with site scheduling, warehouse, quality and QC to resolve issues and implement process improvements around raw materials to drive time and cost savings
- Establish and maintain KPIs utilizing supply chain best practices to monitor plants raw material inventory and supplier performance
- Identify potential raw material supply risks impacting the ability to maintain the production schedule, inventory targets, or supply chain policies. Take appropriate actions to resolve issues by collaborating with suppliers, global procurement, global planning, other GSK sites and key site stakeholders (e.g. scheduling, production, quality, BPT, etc.)
- Trouble-shoot SAP related issues and/or develop as an SAP Super user
- Implement recommendations from global procurement to align with sourcing strategies, drive cost and inventory savings, while ensuring alignment with technical and quality requirements
- Develop relationships with suppliers including providing vendor forecasts
- Execute vendor change notifications and change controls related to materials including alternative sources
Qualifications
- Required: BA/BS degree
- Required: 2+ yearsβ experience of related manufacturing experience in a Supply Chain, Technical, Material Planning, Production or Lab related role
- Preferred: 6+ years of related manufacturing experience in a Supply Chain, Technical, Material Planning, Production, or Lab Supervision-related role
- Preferred: Project Management and change control ownership experience
- Preferred: Strong financial acumen, problem solving, negotiating, and presentation skills
- Preferred: High level proficiency with internal computer systems, including the SAP system and Excel
- Preferred: APICS certification or equivalent or willingness to become certified
- Preferred: Excellent leadership, written and oral communications skills with particular attention to detail
- Preferred: Proficient in the SAP Production Planning System and have extensive raw material planning and/or MRP buying and planning knowledge in a manufacturing environment
- Preferred: Ability to work effectively on cross functional teams including leading problem solving and clearly communicating escalations
