Position Summary
- Design, implement, maintain, and optimize manufacturing automation and operational technology (OT) systems to ensure reliable performance and support process improvements and automation initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage performance, reliability, and lifecycle of manufacturing automation systems.
- Monitor and support manufacturing software applications and automation infrastructure.
- Lead system upgrades, patches, enhancements, and configuration changes.
- Collaborate with vendors and internal stakeholders to resolve technical issues and implement improvements.
- Identify opportunities to improve automation functionality, system performance, and operational efficiency; support continuous improvement.
- Ensure integrity, accuracy, and availability of system data for decision-making and reporting.
- Lead automation-related projects (new implementations, integrations, upgrades, process automation); support planning, testing, deployment, and post-implementation activities.
- Provide technical support/troubleshooting; develop and deliver user training; serve as a subject matter expert.
- Maintain compliance with applicable regulatory requirements, company standards, and data integrity principles.
- Support cybersecurity initiatives for manufacturing systems and OT environments.
- Assist in troubleshooting plant infrastructure, manufacturing software, and automation-related systems.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelorβs degree in IT, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
- 5β7+ years supporting manufacturing automation systems in pharmaceutical/biotech/regulated manufacturing.
- Hands-on automation implementation, upgrade, and maintenance experience.
- Knowledge of regulatory compliance requirements and industry standards for pharma manufacturing.
- Ability to travel up to 30% between manufacturing sites.
Preferred Qualifications
- Network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) and network infrastructure (routers, switches, firewalls) plus cybersecurity technologies.
- OT, ICS, and frameworks such as NIST and ISA-99.
- Analytical/troubleshooting/problem-solving, communication, stakeholder management, and project leadership.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: $110,000β$125,000.
