Position Summary
The Senior Manager, US Medical Promotional Review Scientist (Immunology) plays a critical role in the Medical Communications team within Global Medical Affairs, ensuring medical accuracy and scientific validity of promotional and non-promotional materials within an Immunology brand and disease area, with robust scientific evidence and compliance with US laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain therapeutic area and product knowledge through ongoing assessment of Immunology literature, treatment guidelines, internal resources, and data.
- Provide medical guidance in interdisciplinary meetings/initiatives (promotional review, disease/brand and launch planning, labeling changes, business reviews).
- Conduct reviews of promotional and proactive materials for scientific/medical validity and adherence to BMS SOPs (Medical Promotional Review PReP Advisor team).
- Critically evaluate complex promotional and non-promotional tactics to ensure message balance, key clinical findings, medical accuracy, appropriate support/content per guidelines (e.g., clinical guidelines, FDA/OPDP).
- Align with marketing, access, medical, corporate communications, training, legal, and commercial regulatory affairs to ensure coordinated messaging.
- Demonstrate leadership in the medical review team; drive best practices and process improvements.
- Participate in internal/external meetings (training, education, medical congresses, matrix meetings).
- Review/evaluate evidence supporting promotional claims; advise on appropriate scientific interpretation.
- Apply digital and AI-driven solutions to improve efficiency/consistency/scalability.
- Stay current on regulations and industry trends; share best practices.
- Complete required SOPs/training on time; conduct business in accordance with BMS Values.
Qualifications & Experience (Preferred/Required)
- Advanced scientific degree (PharmD, PhD, or MD preferred).
- 1β3 years clinical practice or direct pharmaceutical/healthcare industry experience in Promotional Review (therapeutic area experience preferred).
- Thorough medical writing and promotional material review knowledge.
- Ability to manage multiple projects, solve problems, meet commitments, and work with multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong written/verbal scientific/medical communication.
- Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry compliance/transparency/conflict-of-interest environments.
- Demonstrated stakeholder relationship-building, negotiation, and leadership/organizational skills.
- Ability to analyze/interpret trial data; significant experience with FDAMA 114 content, Real World Evidence, and data consistent with FDA-approved labeling (CFL).
- Ability to travel 10β25% (domestic and international).
