Global Trade Compliance Senior Manager

Essential Duties and Job Functions:
- Oversee and lead daily export and import compliance operations and projects.
- Manage customs brokers to support efficient and timely customs clearance.
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs, policies, procedures, and controls in line with CBP and CBSA guidelines and other relevant agencies.
- Interface with PGAs (e.g., FDA), customs brokers, and internal/external customers on customs and import/export regulations.
- Implement an audit program (import entry filings, EEI export filings, customs valuation methodology).
- Manage and assign HTS classifications, Export Control Classification (ECCN), FDA import product codes, Schedule B, and country of origin information.
- Manage import/export recordkeeping in compliance with CBP/CBSA and company policy.
- Develop and implement Global Trade Compliance training for cross-functional teams.
- Screen transactions against denied person/entity lists for restricted end-uses and diversion.
- Conduct internal audits and assessments across the business lifecycle (including early-stage product review and classification/characterization).
- Monitor KPIs for import/export activities and drive continuous improvement.
- Build relationships across R&D, Logistics, Supply Chain, Commercial, Tax, Legal, and warehouse operations.
- Identify cost-reduction opportunities and recommend to leadership.

Requirements:
- High school diploma + 12+ years, or Associate’s + 10+ years, or Bachelor’s + 8+ years, or Master’s + 6+ years, or PhD + 2+ years in International Trade Compliance/Supply Chain Management.

Preferred Qualifications / Skills:
- US Customs Broker License; strong US/Canada customs law knowledge.
- Experience implementing/manage trade compliance programs.
- Effective written/oral communication; ability to influence without direct authority.
- Identify compliance gaps; project management experience.
- Knowledge of SAP GTS.

Core Compliance Expertise:
- Importing into WCO/WTO member countries; exporting; EAR classification; OFAC/BIS; harmonized tariff classification; customs valuation; denied party screening; country of origin; CTPAT.
- Duty reduction programs: Free Trade Agreements, Duty Drawback, FTZ, Preferential Origin applications, Temporary Import Bonds.
