Senior Manager, Statistics (Oncology) — AbbVie Inc., North Chicago, IL (Hybrid: onsite 3 days/week, 2 days WFH/remote).
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide expertise to design, analyze, and report clinical trials or other scientific research studies.
- Implement sound statistical methodology; identify and anticipate issues in study design.
- Conduct and propose scientifically sound approaches.
- Assess needs for potential development of novel statistical methodology.
- Independently develop protocols and/or statistical analysis plans with programming implementation details.
- Develop strategy for data presentation and inference.
- Ensure study results and conclusions are scientifically sound, clearly presented, and consistent with statistical analyses.
- Work collaboratively with multifunction teams.
Qualifications:
- PhD in Statistics, Biostatistics, Mathematics, or related field + 2 years’ statistical data analysis experience; of required experience: 2 years in each of:
- Data analyses and simulations supporting new drug applications and/or post-market medical studies
- Identifying data/analytical issues and assisting with solutions
- Clinical trial designs, inferential statistics, causal inference
- SAS and/or R for statistical analyses, computation, and simulations
- Alternatively: Master’s degree + at least 5 years’ statistical data analysis experience, including 5 years in (i)-(iv) above; plus 2 years performing statistical data analyses in the pharmaceutical industry.
