Senior Manager, State Government Affairs (Corporate Affairs)
Your Responsibilities:
- Lead Elanco’s state government affairs advocacy nationwide; serve as primary liaison with state officials, animal health stakeholders, and customers.
- Develop and execute state government affairs strategies to advance Elanco’s state public policy priorities within budget.
- Define and carry out state-focused advocacy aligned with business strategy and long-term goals; collaborate across leaders and functions.
- Translate complex policy issues into clear, persuasive communications for legislative bodies, regulators, and internal leadership.
- Coordinate with internal regulatory/commercial teams to complete state market access registrations for animal health and feed products.
- Lead federal advocacy on environmental and parasiticide policy matters.
- Design/execute advocacy projects by monitoring legislative trends and adjusting strategies.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local lobbying requirements and disclosures.
Qualifications (Minimum):
- Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Environmental Science, Agriculture, Political Science, Public Policy, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 5+ years in state government affairs, lobbying, or state regulatory policy.
- Proven multi-state lobbying experience; ability to distill complex technical issues for non-technical audiences.
Preferred:
- Pesticide regulation, environmental, or animal health policy experience.
- Livestock industry background (dairy/cattle/swine/poultry).
- Experience with state regulatory agencies (animal health jurisdiction); recent CA experience a plus.
- Strong networks with state officials/stakeholders; successful advocacy project management in evolving environments.
