Senior Manager– SAP BTP Platform Services

Role Summary

Senior Manager – SAP BTP Platform Services Maintenance and Operations at Johnson & Johnson Technology Services (JJTS), supporting multiple North America business units. This role is based in Raritan, New Jersey, within the TS-Supply Chain organization, and reports to the Director of Advanced Technology. The incumbent will oversee the operation and maintenance of NA SAP-Finance sector services and be responsible for SAP BTP Platform Service Administration and Maintenance, ensuring efficient recovery of services in the event of disruption.

Responsibilities

• Solution Design: Work closely with clients and the SAP Practice team to understand business needs and translate them into effective SAP BTP solutions.
• Technical Expertise: Apply deep knowledge of SAP BTP services, including SAP Cloud Platform, data management, analytics, and application development; proficiency with SAP BTP services, APIs, and integration tools; familiarity with SAP products such as BTP, FIORI, ECC, S/4HANA, BW, WEB Dispatcher, cloud connectors, and Satellite Systems.
• Integration: Integrate SAP BTP with SAP S/4HANA (private cloud) and other SAP and non-SAP systems, ensuring end-to-end processes and data flow; guide system integrations, data flows, and security considerations; ensure S/4HANA integration with other systems.
• Security and Compliance: Ensure security, compliance, and optimal performance of SAP BTP environments for specific client contexts.
• Collaboration: Work across organizational levels with Enterprise Architects, SAP Solution Architects, project stakeholders, business analysts, developers, and functional teams to translate requirements into scalable SAP BTP solutions; build and manage partner relationships as an application service manager.
• Operational Excellence: Oversee BTP platform activities; stay current with industry trends; conduct system assessments, performance tuning, and optimization; manage monitoring infrastructure and platform patches.
• Project Delivery: Lead or participate in full project lifecycles, from requirements to deployment and support; perform performance analysis and optimization; develop and execute project plans, timelines, and budgets; guide a high-performance team and drive continuous process improvement; manage MVP requirements, testing strategy, landscape planning, error handling, and project objectives.
• Compliance Process: Apply Agile processes (incident management, change, problem, release management) and service validation; configure and customize SAP BTP components; facilitate change management and end-user training; ensure regulatory and security policy compliance.
• Communication & Leadership: Strong verbal and written communication; representation of business and IT implications during major service disruptions; leadership qualities; foster collaboration and inclusion; manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Experience & Skills: 14+ years as a System Architect supporting SAP applications and platforms; understanding servers, application architecture, system connectivity, platform design, storage, databases, and compliance processes. Current and/or prior people management experience; knowledge of SAP/ERP processes; FIORI/UI5 knowledge; SAP BTP App Development & Integration; BTP architecture and design; S4 HANA; SAP BW/ECC; cloud technologies; SAP BTP Certifications (Solution Architect / Integration) preferred.

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Systems or Computer Science, or a related field; Master's degree preferred.
