Senior Manager, R&D Procurement, Biomarkers Category (may be based in Florida, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, or Beerse, Belgium)

Position Overview
- Develop, lead, and manage the Biomarkers category strategy supporting Innovative Medicine R&D Clinical Development.
- Translate scientific and clinical business needs into market-informed category strategies, supplier strategies, sourcing approaches, contracting pathways, and governance models to enable access to biomarker technologies while delivering procurement value, business continuity, quality, compliance, and speed to innovation.
- Partner with Biomarker Development, Clinical Trial teams, Therapeutic Area stakeholders, Partnerships/Vendor Management, Legal, Finance, Quality, Data Science/Digital partners, Global Services sourcing, and other Procurement teams.

Category Scope
- Exploratory biomarker testing and custom biomarker assay work by external labs.
- Primary/secondary biomarker assay services (direct or via Central Labs).
- Companion diagnostics and assay-related services supporting clinical development.
- Technology platforms: molecular, cellular, immunoassays, pathology, NGS, digital pathology, multi-omics, and related emerging capabilities.

Responsibilities
- Determine global business needs; develop/refresh global category strategy (guidance, supplier segmentation, preferred models, governance, contracting strategy).
- Use market intelligence/benchmarks to create value; develop sourcing and contracting approaches.
- Manage supplier relationships and governance; mitigate supplier/market/regulatory risks.
- Deliver business plan commitments (savings, cost management, cash flow, supplier management); execute category initiatives using scorecards/milestones; leverage approved data/analytics/GenAI tools.

Qualifications
- Education: Bachelorโ€™s degree (required). Preferred: Masterโ€™s/advanced degree in sciences, business, supply chain, procurement, or related.
- Experience: Minimum 8 years related experience.
- Skills: business acumen; influencing; leadership/collaboration; strong communication/presentation; spend/category/supplier management and negotiation; learning agility; project management.

Preferred Experience/Skills
- Pharma/MedTech/clinical development/lab services/diagnostics/central lab/biomarker/CRO experience.
- Biomarkers, specialty labs, companion diagnostics, assay development, clinical trial services, central laboratories, or adjacent supply chain/R&D categories.
- Data/analytics/market intelligence and approved GenAI tool experience for sourcing/contract review/spend analytics/supplier segmentation.
- Category strategy refresh experience and cross-stakeholder partnering.
- Language: English; Travel: up to 10%.
