Role Summary

Senior Manager, Procurement – Capital Equipment. Lead development, execution, and management of integrated category strategies for Capital Investment. Category Lead for all capital projects in the USA, with potential support to other regions as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Projects Procurement Lead
    • Accountable for procuring Engineering and Construction services for all Strategic capital projects in USA. Additional regions may be supported based on Capex plan requirements and business priorities.
    • Develop and implement Project Procurement strategies in collaboration with Business teams, leveraging support from Engineering suppliers depending on the project delivery model (e.g., EPCM, EPC, Design and Build, etc.).
  • Global Category Lead
    • Accountable for developing and implementing the overarching strategy for the equipment categories.
    • Support the Engineering team in aligning work practices and methodologies across GSK's Global Supply Chain (GSC) for Rx, Vx, and R&D sectors.
    • Accountable for developing performance-based contracts and deliverables for consultancy services.
    • Responsible for implementing Engineering Services, Project Management and Project Controls categories within the region.
    • Foster internal collaboration with stakeholders, including site and global engineering teams, to achieve Capex objectives, ensuring global deployment of strategies through effective implementation and transition plans.
    • Lead complex negotiations for Engineering and Construction Services to ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget.
    • Deliver high-quality, compliant, and timely agreements with clear return on investment.
    • Ensure effective contract management to ensure adherence to terms and prompt corrective actions.
    • Oversee SRM program with key suppliers, focusing on contract performance and governance.
    • Streamline the supplier base worldwide by prioritizing preferred suppliers.
    • Conduct external benchmarking to align with current market standards.
    • Generate value in terms of quality, delivery, safety, and cost; recruit and oversee procurement resources to support these responsibilities.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, or Engineering.
  • Required: 8+ years of procurement experience across key processes (category management, market analysis, sourcing, negotiation, contract management, supplier relationship management).
  • Required: Understanding of technical categories present within capital projects: Building services and process/biotech equipment, construction, and technical contractors.
  • Required: Business acumen, analytical, and financial skills.
  • Preferred: Experience in Capex projects and equipment.
  • Preferred: Experience in Pharma/Life Science.
  • Preferred: Experience with Lean/Six Sigma tools.
  • Preferred: Fluency in French.

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or Master’s degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, or Engineering.
