Role Summary

Senior Manager, Procurement – Capital Construction, responsible for developing, executing, and managing integrated category strategies for Capital Investment. Serves as the Category Lead for all capital projects in the USA, guiding procurement and contracting strategies for Engineering and Construction Services aligned with regional capital plans.

Responsibilities

  • Strategic Projects Procurement Lead: procure Engineering and Construction services for all strategic capital projects in the USA; may support additional regions based on Capex requirements and priorities. Develop and implement Project Procurement strategies in collaboration with Business teams, leveraging Engineering suppliers depending on delivery model (e.g., EPCM, EPC, Design and Build).
  • Global Category Lead: develop and implement overarching construction category strategy; support Engineering team in aligning practices across Global Supply Chain for Rx, Vx, and R&D sectors; develop performance-based contracts for consultancy services; implement Engineering Services, Project Management and Project Controls categories within the region; foster internal collaboration with site and global engineering teams to deploy strategies globally; lead complex negotiations to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery; ensure quality, compliant, timely agreements with clear ROI; manage contract terms and initiate corrective actions; oversee SRM program with key suppliers; streamline supplier base prioritizing preferred suppliers; conduct external benchmarking; generate value in quality, delivery, safety, and cost; recruit and oversee procurement resources.

Qualifications

  • Required: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, or Engineering; 8+ years of procurement experience across core processes (category management, market analysis, sourcing, negotiation, contract management, supplier relationship management); understanding of technical categories within capital projects (building services, process/biotech equipment, construction, technical contractors); strong business acumen, analytical and financial skills.
  • Preferred: Experience in Capex projects and construction; experience in Pharma/Life Science; Lean/Six Sigma tools; fluent in French.

Education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Business, Finance, or Engineering.
