Brief Description
- Join the R&D Pipeline Innovation team (Jazz Corporate Development) to provide decision-enabling R&D assessment of potential new BD&L investment opportunities (M&A, in-licensing, or marketed drug products), focused on neuroscience and oncology.

Responsibilities
- Identify new BD&L opportunities:
- Maintain databases of target opportunities and prior evaluations.
- Conduct disease landscape evaluations (internal data and external vendors).
- Monitor industry trends, conferences, and scientific literature.
- Support additional data gathering and analytics.
- Travel to conferences/meetings (10%–20% of working hours).
- Support diligence and technical assessment:
- Coordinate R&D diligence with functions including Research, Early/Clinical Development, Clinical Operations, Project Management, Regulatory, Quality, Safety/Pharmacovigilance.
- Evaluate opportunities (drug development: mechanistic rationale, preclinical evidence, clinical utility, regulatory feasibility; business: unmet need, competitive landscape, strategic fit).
- Synthesize findings into recommendations with Pipeline Innovation deal lead, New Product Planning, and Corporate Development.
- Track/summarize evaluations and generate diligence summary documents.
- Present diligence findings to senior leadership.
- Represent R&D with KOLs, companies, academic institutions, etc.; manage KOL contracts and support outreach/network expansion.
- Support R&D:
- Maintain quarterly RNCD pipeline prioritization scoresheet.
- Support neuroscience and oncology Advisory Boards.

Required Qualifications
- Ph.D. with strong molecular biology understanding.
- 2+ years in pharma/biotech research, business development, or consulting with broad drug development understanding.

Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years in pharma/biotech research, business development, or consulting (broad drug development understanding).
- Oncology experience.

Skills/Abilities
- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to create recommendations and present in an industry setting.
- Dataset management experience (e.g., Excel).
- Collaborative, critical thinking, problem-solving, creative anticipation.
- Thrives in fast-paced, highly matrixed environments.
