Position Summary
- The Senior Manager, Operations Research and Analytics Development will partner with SMEs across Analytics Development to design, build, and scale core tools that serve as the technical foundation for analytics solutions supporting multiple PDS verticals.

Key Responsibilities
- Apply operations research methods, including MILP (mixed integer linear programming), DES (discrete event simulation), stochastic modeling, and decision analysis under uncertainty, to complex use cases.
- Architect, implement, and maintain complex production-grade Python codebases (including those operationalizing MILP and DES models), with modularity, testability, performance, reliability, and quality standards.
- Translate analytical prototypes into robust production-ready solutions through collaboration with BI&T, platform teams, and peer developers.
- Use AI coding tools (e.g., Claude Code or similar) to improve velocity across implementation, refactoring, documentation, and debugging while maintaining engineering rigor.
- Establish and advance engineering best practices: CI/CD, code reviews, automated testing, linting, reproducible environments, and technical documentation.
- Expose operations research tools/model workflows via an MCP server for secure, reliable agentic interactions and automation.
- Define/maintain technical standards for code quality, maintainability, and reliable deployment across the AD portfolio.
- Partner to identify, triage, prioritize, and deliver analytics solutions aligned to strategic objectives.
- Communicate findings, technical trade-offs, and implementation implications to technical and non-technical leaders.
- Support decision-making with data, model assumptions, and quantified uncertainty.
- Mentor junior team members; lead peer reviews/design walkthroughs/knowledge sharing.
- Manage multiple workstreams with scope, milestones, risk awareness, and accountability.

Required
- PhD in Operations Research, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, or related quantitative STEM field.
- 2–3 years professional experience (preferably industry) building/deploying analytics and operations research solutions.
- Demonstrated expertise in production (or production-adjacent) Python software engineering.
- Strong Git experience and modern collaborative workflows (branching, PRs, code review, release/version management).
- Hands-on use of AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code or equivalent).
- Strong grounding in optimization, simulation, stochastic modeling, and/or risk modeling.
- Excellent written and verbal communication for senior business/technical audiences.

Preferred
- Experience in pharmaceutical product development, supply chain, manufacturing, or demand/supply planning.
- AWS cloud infrastructure and full-stack development experience.
- Experience with cloud-enabled analytics, data pipelines, and/or data lake integration.
- Familiarity with SQL and modern data engineering practices.
- Experience leading small teams/technical squads.
