The Senior Manager, Operating Unit Strategic Analytics Will Partner With The Operating Units And GTS Analytics Stakeholders To Establish Core Capabilities Within The Team, Namely

• Driving analytics and capability builds - Answer key business questions supporting long term planning activities and strategic initiatives using innovative data science techniques. Support the development of core analytical and data science tools, ETL (Extract, Transform, and Load) pipelines, and statistical methodologies for the team.
• Supporting business decisions - Work closely with network strategy and manufacturing leaders to proactively identify and address priority business questions.
• Driving team productivity and operational excellence - Ensure consistent adoption of coding best-practices, coding standards and data analysis methodologies by contracted or other team staff.

Driving Analytics and Capabilities

• Designs, develops, and implements a broad array of business analytics that solve complex problems in a computationally efficient and statistically appropriate manner.
• Identifies new opportunities to further leverage analytics, data and analytical tools.
• Actively manages multiple projects in parallel from charter through completion.
• Ensures best practice adoption within stated areas of responsibility, applying appropriate levels of technical capability, standardization and subject matter expertise.
• Defines standards for the provision of analytics to support planning and decision making processes and utilizes appropriate escalation processes.
• Acts as subject matter expert of the Bristol Myers Squibb technology stack within team and provides technical leadership for driving technology solutions in analytics deployment.
• Drives capability build for data automation, cloud computing and data lake integration within team.
• Contributes to defining the overall team strategy in collaboration with team leadership.

Supporting Business Decisions

• Work closely with business stakeholders to proactively identify and address priority business questions that bridge the gap between global network vs. manufacturing site strategy.
• Drive the application of fact-based decision making for key site questions.
• Develops and maintains a deep understanding of operating unit business priorities and the enterprise portfolio.
• Builds relationships with key stakeholder and senior leaders within GPS and BI&T.
• Demonstrates ability to influence senior leaders to adopt analytics-derived, actionable insights.

Driving Team Productivity and Operational Excellence

• Follows coding best practices and works with IT and other BI&T stakeholders to drive the adoption of these best practices.
• Conducts detailed team walkthroughs and peer reviews of team's work to ensure quality, cross-training, and knowledge management.
• Leads standardization of analytics and process methodologies in GPS Analytics.
• Authors detailed documentation that describes analytics tool development, assumptions and input data and data processing.
• Mentors/coaches junior team members on technical topics.

Qualifications & Experience

• BA/BS in a scientific or quantitative major required; advanced degree (Master or PhD) preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience in developing, implementing and deploying predictive machine learning/statistical model solutions that created clear business value. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to lead advanced analytics projects from start to finish and deliver scalable, effective solutions that drive decision-making. Relevant experience in the biopharmaceutical industry or consulting preferred.
• 3+ years of experience working with Python (required), SQL, Linux OS/CLIs and Git in production and operational environments. This includes proficiency in writing efficient, scalable code for data manipulation, analysis and modeling as well as designing and optimizing queries for relational databases to support robust, real-time data pipelines and machine learning workflows.
• Experience with Bayesian/probabilistic modeling, discrete event simulation, software development and Amazon Web Services (AWS) managed services a plus.
• Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to lead multiple projects and balance shifting priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal, collaborative, team building, written and verbal communication skills to ensure effective collaborations within matrix teams.

BMS has a diverse occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work.
