Senior Manager, Ontology

Role: Senior Manager, Ontology at Takeda, based in Cambridge, MA (Hybrid), focusing on biomedical data curation and standardization. Responsibilities: harmonize and curate Research, Development, and Medical datasets into FAIR-aligned, analysis-ready formats; implement metadata standards, ontology mapping, versioning, and QC processes; lead cross-functional stakeholder engagement; optimize workflows through automation; develop and maintain ontology management practices and tools. Requirements: Bachelor's degree in life sciences, bioinformatics, data science, or related field; 4–7+ years in biomedical data curation, data management, or governance within pharma/biotech/CRO settings; experience with controlled vocabularies (e.g., NCIT, MedDRA), ontology tools (SciBite CENtree, TopBraid), and version control; proficiency in QC/QA standards and SOPs. Preferred: familiarity with semantic web standards (RDF, OWL, SKOS) and collaboration with platform/engineering teams.
