Role Summary
Senior Manager of Global Forecasting, Obesity at Amgen responsible for leading advanced forecasting efforts for obesity pipeline assets, partnering with global brand leads, and influencing cross-functional stakeholders to establish rigorous worldwide sales expectations and strategic decisions.
Responsibilities
- Advanced Forecasting Techniques: build detailed forecast models (patient, Rx, sales, Rx Based) by indication/region; apply advanced simulation models (Monte Carlo, statistical trending) to quantify uncertainty; leverage diverse pharmaceutical data sources to enhance forecasting approaches.
- Market Analysis and Competitor Intelligence: analyze competitors and market dynamics to inform forecasting models and strategic decisions; develop an objective brand strategy by integrating cross-functional insights.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement: serve as the key point of contact for global brand leads, facilitate discussions, and build consensus to establish worldwide sales expectations for pipeline assets.
- Strategic Insights and Recommendations: identify actionable strategies to maximize commercial potential, prioritize risks and opportunities; provide recommendations on product development continuation or discontinuation based on market conditions and financial projections.
- Communication and Presentation: develop and deliver transparent presentations that articulate key forecast variables for decision-makers; influence leadership on recommended actions.
- Collaboration with CD&A: work with the broader Commercial Data & Analytics organization to integrate insights into forecast development and enhance forecast depth and accuracy.
- Process Optimization: drive productivity and efficiency by streamlining forecasting processes where possible.
Qualifications
- Required: Doctorate degree and 2 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management
- Required: Master’s degree and 4 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management
- Required: Bachelor’s degree and 6 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management
- Required: Associate’s degree and 10 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management
- Required: High school diploma / GED and 12 years of experience in Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management
- Preferred: Ability to quickly establish credibility with and influence ED/VP level staff
- Preferred: Knowledge and experience with industry internal and secondary data sources; experience with analog and uptake curve analysis
- Preferred: Proficiency in advanced forecasting techniques, statistical modeling, and data analysis
- Preferred: Collaborative, team-based work style with ability to gain alignment across an organization
- Preferred: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word
- Preferred: Excellent communication skills to present complex data to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Preferred: Ability to interpret data trends, identify patterns, and make data-driven decisions
- Preferred: Experience contributing to long-term business plans based on forecasting insights
- Preferred: Flexible commuter role to Thousand Oaks office; on-site 3 days a week
Education
- Doctorate, Master’s, Bachelor’s, Associate’s, or High School diploma with corresponding years of experience in Pharma/Biotech forecasting, demand planning, and/or supply chain management as listed in the Basic Qualifications
