Role Summary

Senior Manager, Medical Communications – Medical Affairs, fully remote. Oversees the development and dissemination of symposia, videos, podcasts and other medical education content to support clinical research initiatives, ensuring accurate, relevant, and up-to-date medical education for internal stakeholders and external partners.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, impactful scientific content that supports internal stakeholders and external healthcare professionals.
  • Assist with development, review and/or maintenance of product and disease-related slide kits, symposia, and digital education materials.
  • Leverage digital channels (SERMO, podcasts, videos), omnichannel tools, and AI-driven solutions to innovate and enhance Medical Communication strategies with data-driven engagement.
  • Contribute to medical congress activities, including booth content, scientific content and session coverage; create post-congress summary materials.
  • Own the development, pull-through and execution of the Scientific Narrative and Scientific Communication Platform (SCP).
  • Participate in the creation and execution of the scientific content plan for the fiscal year, aligned with the Medical Plan.
  • Develop program-specific scientific materials such as mechanism of disease graphics, data summary decks, and templates for company-wide use.
  • Manage external vendors and agencies to deliver high-quality live and virtual medical education programs.
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of medical education initiatives and provide feedback to cross-functional teams for continuous improvement.
  • Align with cross-functional teams to develop a dynamic Independent Medical Education program.

Qualifications

  • Must have an advanced medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent), PharmD or PhD.
  • 3+ years of medical affairs experience in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology industry.
  • Experience in hypertension, sleep apnea, chronic kidney disease; launch experience preferred.
  • Experience in budget and vendor management.
  • Proven success in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, smaller company environment is highly desired.
  • Proven experience working collaboratively across field medical teams, corporate affairs, clinical development, commercial, sales, market access and other functions; ability to inform and shape company/product strategy.
  • Understanding of laws, regulations, standards, and guidance governing the conduct of publications.
  • Experience collaborating with cross-functional, international teams.
  • Understanding of compliance and regulatory frameworks governing scientific exchange.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements (FDA, EMA) and industry standards (GPP, ICH, PhRMA Code).

Education

  • Advanced medical degree (MD, DO, or equivalent), PharmD or PhD.
  • Additional education or certifications in related fields are a plus.

Additional Requirements

  • Travel up to 10% may be required; travel may be outside the local area, overnight, and possibly international.
