Role Summary

Senior Manager, Medical Capabilities, Content, and Training is responsible for supporting home office and field medical content creation, coordinating medical training, refining operational efficiencies for the Medical Affairs team, and assisting in cross-functional strategy and planning at major medical congresses. Also assists in managing grants and sponsorship requests.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the medical communications team to support content creation for home office and field medical teams, including ushering materials through the MLR (Medical, Legal, Regulatory) review process
  • Oversee routine updates to external resources such as the slide decks, congress presentations, and Q&A documents, including their submission through the MLR process
  • Coordinate training and build resources for new hires and ongoing training needs for the Medical Affairs team based on new data updates and changes in the therapeutic landscape
  • Support onboarding for Medical Affairs new team members
  • Assist with ongoing assessments of current capabilities to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement to achieve operational efficiencies
  • Support the negotiation of contracts with third-party vendors to ensure quality services, including vendors and HCP contracts as needed
  • Identify and support new processes, IT or other technology implementations
  • Assist in managing the process for conferences
  • Stay current/develop expertise in disease state, asset knowledge

Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) in a medical or science-related specialty, although significant experience in the medical field may be considered in lieu of an advanced degree.
  • 3+ years in biotech and/or pharma in medical roles of increasing responsibility; working with or on field teams strongly preferred
  • Oncology and field medical affairs experience highly desirable
  • Experience contributing to or participating in diverse leadership or matrix team experiences and capabilities within medical affairs
  • Experience assisting with external agencies and vendors and supporting budget management
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to manage resources, programs and multiple projects
  • Ability to understand and communicate complex analyses
  • Team oriented and ability to work collaboratively towards common objectives
  • Ability to work independently with strong sense of accountability and ability to execute
  • Must be decisive, exercise good judgment in decisions, organized and with the ability to prioritize a large workload in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, and sense of urgency
  • Launch experience highly desired, but not mandatory
  • Strong problem-solving ability through insightful solutions which address complex issues
  • Ability to travel to Nuvation Bio Headquarters and professional congresses as appropriate (~20%).
