Schedule:
- Onsite Monday through Friday in Burlington; occasional days in Cambridge during transition.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily warehouse operations across two sites: receipt, storage, inventory control, planning, and material issuance to manufacturing.
- Manage and optimize capacity planning and scheduling to meet production demands and service levels.
- Ensure accurate and timely inventory transactions and material movements across facilities.
- Lead cycle counts and physical inventory programs for control, accuracy, traceability, evaluation, and reconciliation.
- Drive inventory optimization strategies balancing supply, cost, and operational efficiency.
- Establish and manage KPIs (daily/weekly/monthly) to improve visibility, accountability, and performance.
- Support facility expansion/transition, including transferring materials operations.
- Optimize layout and material flow across two sites and 3PLs to improve throughput and reduce waste.
- Ensure compliance with cGMP, GDP, safety, and corporate quality standards; support investigations related to deviations, CAPAs, and non-conformances.
- Establish and reinforce SOP adherence for GMP material handling.
- Proactively identify and mitigate operational and compliance risks.
- Lead, develop, and retain a high-performing materials organization; coach and performance-manage team members.
- Use LEAN tools (e.g., 5S, huddle boards, Gemba walks, standardized reporting) to drive continuous improvement.
- Ensure required training completion and coverage continuity.
- Create staffing/workforce plans and ensure adequate coverage, including on-call readiness/qualified delegation.
- Drive process improvements and partner cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality, and Facilities.
- Lead operational readiness for growth, capacity expansion, and new facility integration.
Qualifications:
- Bachelorβs degree and 7+ years in a cGMP environment (biotech, medical device, or pharmaceutical) or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of cGMP/GDP, inventory control, and regulated materials handling.
- Warehouse management experience supporting production.
- Leadership experience improving quality, service, and cost; continuous improvement experience (e.g., Six Sigma or Lean).
- Data-driven analysis and structured problem-solving skills.
- Solid working knowledge of MS Office.
- Experience in high-volume, fast-paced materials and cleanroom environments.
- Strategic thinking and planning experience.
- Preferred: buyer/planner, supply chain, distribution, or manufacturing experience.
Working Conditions:
- Ability to gown and enter manufacturing areas.
- May stand for long periods.
- Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 lbs.
- May work alternate schedules as needed.
